Well we had our first fisherman come in to let us know that he caught 3 small fish under the Plum Island Bridge area. biggest one was 19″. We asked him what their coloring was like and he said a muddy brown so these are “holdover” fish that hang around all year long and not fresh shinny fish that have made their way along the oceanfront. But hey, it is a start and that is what we need. Have been hearing that the stripers have now shown up in Boston Harbor so it should just be a matter of a few days before we see them running the oceanfront. Time to bring out the little stuff like last year and start walking the beach! Last year it was a lot of soft plastics, bucktail jigs, and swimming lures. Now all we need is some sun! It sure has been a raw couple of days here on the island. Don’t be fooled if you are coming from inland. Bring some warm gear! Let the season begin!!!
